Why is there a charge to eCycle eWaste?

In order to maintain compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations, our partners must go to great lengths to make sure all eWaste is handled properly.

To that end, ēcoGrün is charged per pound on the eWaste we collect and take to be eCycled.  Costs are incurred for labor, transportation, proper disassembly, destruction and warehousing of eCycled eWaste. 

 The environmentally friendly by-products of our partner's processes are then repurposed for reuse.  The proceeds from the sale of these products keep our partner in business.  Thus, you can be assured of a 100% closed-loop, recycling solution which transports no eWaste overseas.

This especially holds true in the proper disposal of televisions, cathode ray tube (CRT) monitors and liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors.  These pieces of eWaste have tremendous amounts of lead in the glass.  There are very specific rules and regulations regarding the proper handling of these components.
